गोमिया में हाथी के हमले से युवक की मौत, मंत्री ने पहुंचकर जताया शोक

गोमिया प्रखंड अंतर्गत कंडेर पंचायत के ग्राम दरहा बेड़ा में शनिवार की देर रात करीब 10:30 बजे हाथियों के झुंड ने हमला कर 35 वर्षीय युवक प्रेमचंद मांझी की कुचलकर हत्या कर दी। इस दर्दनाक घटना से पूरे इलाके में दहशत और शोक का माहौल है।

प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार मृतक प्रेमचंद मांझी अपनी पत्नी और तीन बच्चों के साथ घर में सो रहा था। रात लगभग 10 बजे हाथियों का झुंड गांव में घुस आया और घर के पास रखे अनाज को नुकसान पहुंचाने के साथ-साथ घर में भी तोड़फोड़ करने लगा। हाथियों से जान बचाने के लिए प्रेमचंद अपनी पत्नी और बच्चों के साथ घर से बाहर निकलकर भागने लगा। इसी दौरान एक हाथी ने उसे पकड़ लिया और कुचल दिया, जिससे उसकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई।
घटना की सूचना मिलते ही वन विभाग गोमिया की टीम मौके पर पहुंची और काफी मशक्कत के बाद हाथियों के झुंड को जंगल की ओर खदेड़ा।

इस हृदयविदारक घटना की जानकारी मिलने पर रविवार सुबह राज्य के पेयजल एवं स्वच्छता तथा उत्पाद एवं मद्य निषेध विभाग के मंत्री सह गोमिया विधायक श्री योगेंद्र प्रसाद महतो घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे। उन्होंने मृतक के परिजनों से मुलाकात कर गहरा शोक व्यक्त किया और उन्हें ढांढस बंधाया।

मंत्री श्री महतो ने कहा कि सरकारी प्रावधान के तहत मृतक के आश्रितों को ₹4 लाख का मुआवजा दिया जाएगा, साथ ही तत्काल सहायता के रूप में ₹25,000 की राशि उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। घटना में मृतक के पुत्र को भी चोटें आई हैं, जिन्हें इलाज के लिए अस्पताल भेजा गया है।

मंत्री ने वन विभाग के वरीय अधिकारियों से दूरभाष पर बातचीत कर हाथियों की बढ़ती गतिविधियों पर गंभीर चिंता जताई और क्षेत्र में तत्काल रोकथाम के सख्त निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि हाथियों के प्लांट रूट मैप की पहचान कर उन्हें सुरक्षित जंगलों की ओर भेजा जाए, ताकि ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में जान-माल की क्षति को रोका जा सके।
