गोमिया (बोकारो): गोमीया प्रखंड क्षेत्र में जंगली हाथियों का बढ़ता खतरा एक बार फिर जानलेवा साबित हुआ। रविवार सुबह महुआ चुनने जंगल गई एक महिला की हाथी के हमले में मौके पर ही दर्दनाक मौत हो गई, जिससे पूरे इलाके में भय और आक्रोश का माहौल है।
जानकारी के अनुसार, जगेश्वर बिहार थाना क्षेत्र के जगेश्वर गांव निवासी मेघनाथ महतो कि पत्नी (48 वर्षीय )तकनी देवी गांव की अन्य महिलाओं के साथ कोली बेड़ा पत्थर जंगल में महुआ चुनने गई थीं। इसी दौरान अचानक एक जंगली हाथी वहां पहुंच गया और हमला कर दिया। साथ गई महिलाएं किसी तरह भागकर अपनी जान बचाने में सफल रहीं, लेकिन तकनी देवी हाथी की चपेट में आ गईं। हाथी ने उन्हें पटककर गंभीर रूप से घायल कर दिया, जिससे उनकी घटनास्थल पर ही मौत हो गई।
घटना की सूचना मिलते ही वन विभाग की टीम मौके पर पहुंची और स्थिति का जायजा लिया। विभाग की ओर से पीड़ित परिवार को तत्काल 25 हजार रुपये की सहायता राशि दी गई। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि आवश्यक प्रक्रिया पूरी होने के बाद मृतका के परिजनों को चार लाख रुपये का मुआवजा प्रदान किया जाएगा।
घटना के बाद ग्रामीणों में दहशत के साथ-साथ नाराजगी भी देखने को मिल रही है। स्थानीय लोगों ने वन विभाग पर नियमित गश्ती नहीं करने का आरोप लगाया है। वहीं वन विभाग ने लोगों से अपील की है कि वे जंगल में अकेले न जाएं और हाथियों की गतिविधियों को देखते हुए सतर्क रहें। बताया गया है कि क्षेत्र में हाथियों का एक झुंड लगातार सक्रिय है, जिसकी निगरानी की जा रही है।
