गोमिया प्रखंड अंतर्गत स्वांग उत्तरी पंचायत में भारत रत्न डॉ. भीमराव अंबेडकर की जयंती के अवसर पर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में बड़ी संख्या में लोगों ने कांग्रेस पार्टी की सदस्यता ग्रहण की। कार्यक्रम गोमिया प्रखंड कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष पंकज पांडे की उपस्थिति में युवा नेता अमित चौहान के नेतृत्व में संपन्न हुआ।
कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत बाबा साहब के चित्र पर माल्यार्पण कर की गई। इस दौरान उपस्थित नेताओं और कार्यकर्ताओं ने उनके विचारों को याद करते हुए संविधान की रक्षा और उसके मूल्यों पर चलने का संकल्प लिया।
इस मौके पर कांग्रेस पार्टी को गोमिया प्रखंड में मजबूत बनाने का भी संकल्प लिया गया। पार्टी में शामिल होने वाले कार्यकर्ताओं ने कहा कि कांग्रेस एक ऐसी राजनीतिक पार्टी है, जो संविधान पर आधारित है और उसके सिद्धांतों में विश्वास रखती है।
कांग्रेस की सदस्यता ग्रहण करने वालों में अमित चौहान, लक्ष्मण प्रसाद, यशोदा कुमारी, मनोज यादव, सुरेश चौहान, उर्मिला देवी, सुरेश गोप, रमेश गोप, चंद्रदेव चौहान, राजाराम चौहान, प्रदीप विश्वकर्मा, शिकारी मांझी, सीता देवी, पूनम देवी, लखन सहित अन्य कई लोग शामिल हैं।
कार्यक्रम में प्रखंड कांग्रेस के उपाध्यक्ष अभय कुमार सिन्हा, कृष्णा सिंह एवं बद्री सहित कई कार्यकर्ता उपस्थित रहे।
