मंगलवार को गोमिया प्रखंड के बैंक मोड़, शब्दीटांड, गंझुडीह एवं बेलाटांड़ में भारत रत्न डॉ. भीमराव अंबेडकर की जयंती समारोह पूरे श्रद्धा एवं उत्साह के साथ मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर झारखंड सरकार के पेयजल एवं स्वच्छता तथा उत्पाद एवं मद्य निषेध विभाग के माननीय मंत्री योगेंद्र प्रसाद महतो मुख्य रूप से उपस्थित रहे।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान मंत्री श्री महतो ने बाबा साहब की प्रतिमा पर माल्यार्पण कर उन्हें श्रद्धासुमन अर्पित किया। समारोह में स्थानीय लोगों एवं आयोजकों द्वारा मंत्री का फूल-माला, पुष्पगुच्छ एवं अंगवस्त्र भेंट कर भव्य स्वागत किया गया।
इस मौके पर अपने संबोधन में मंत्री श्री महतो ने कहा कि बाबा साहब ने समाज को समानता, शिक्षा और न्याय का जो मार्ग दिखाया, वह आज भी प्रासंगिक है। उन्होंने कहा कि डॉ. भीमराव अंबेडकर का जीवन हम सभी के लिए प्रेरणास्रोत है और उनके विचारों को अपनाकर ही एक समतामूलक एवं सशक्त समाज का निर्माण संभव है।
कार्यक्रम में बड़ी संख्या में स्थानीय लोग, जनप्रतिनिधि एवं सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता उपस्थित रहे, जिन्होंने बाबा साहब को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए उनके बताए मार्ग पर चलने का संकल्प लिया।
