हजारीबाग में पत्रकारों के साथ कथित मारपीट और अभद्र व्यवहार की घटना को लेकर पत्रकार संगठनों में नाराजगी बढ़ती जा रही है। इसी क्रम में झारखंड यूनियन ऑफ जर्नलिस्ट, गोमिया प्रखंड इकाई की ओर से मुख्यमंत्री के नाम संबोधित ज्ञापन प्रखंड विकास पदाधिकारी (बीडीओ) गोमिया को सौंपा गया।
ज्ञापन में 28 अप्रैल को हजारीबाग स्थित Shaheed Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital में पत्रकारों के साथ हुई घटना की कड़ी निंदा की गई। संगठन ने इसे लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों और प्रेस की स्वतंत्रता पर हमला बताया। ज्ञापन में कहा गया कि पत्रकारिता लोकतंत्र का चौथा स्तंभ है और जनप्रतिनिधियों से सवाल पूछना पत्रकारों का अधिकार है। ऐसे में पत्रकारों के साथ हिंसक व्यवहार बेहद दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण और चिंताजनक है।
संगठन के अध्यक्ष राजकुमार स्वर्णकार और सचिव अनंत कुमार ने कहा कि यदि पत्रकार निर्भीक होकर अपना कार्य नहीं कर पाएंगे, तो लोकतंत्र कमजोर होगा। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि स्वास्थ्य मंत्री Irfan Ansari की मौजूदगी में उनके समर्थकों द्वारा पत्रकारों के साथ दुर्व्यवहार किया गया, जो गंभीर चिंता का विषय है।
ज्ञापन के माध्यम से मुख्यमंत्री से मांग की गई कि पूरे मामले की निष्पक्ष और उच्चस्तरीय जांच कराई जाए तथा दोषियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित की जाए। साथ ही संबंधित मंत्री को मंत्रिमंडल से हटाने और राज्य में पत्रकारों की सुरक्षा के लिए प्रभावी पत्रकार सुरक्षा कानून लागू करने की मांग भी उठाई गई।
पत्रकार संगठन ने चेतावनी दी कि यदि जल्द कार्रवाई नहीं हुई, तो राज्यव्यापी आंदोलन किया जाएगा। ज्ञापन सौंपने के दौरान दिलीप शर्मा, राजकुमार वर्मा, ओंकार मिश्रा, कहकशां, कुलदीप कुमार, पंकज पांडेय, शशिकांत सिंह, कुलदीप खनूजा, लक्ष्मण लहरे, अब्दुल सामंत, कृष्ण कुमार, रौशन प्रामाणिक, जितेंद्र अग्रवाल, जितेंद्र पासवान, दीपक पासवान और विशाल अग्रवाल सहित कई पत्रकार मौजूद रहे।
