अमेरिका और ईरान के बीच जारी तनाव और युद्ध जैसे हालात के बीच प्रधानमंत्री Narendra Modi ने देशवासियों से सावधानी बरतने और आर्थिक रूप से जिम्मेदार व्यवहार अपनाने की अपील की है। हैदराबाद में आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने लोगों से फिलहाल अनावश्यक विदेशी यात्राओं से बचने, गैर-जरूरी सोने की खरीदारी रोकने और जहां संभव हो वहां “वर्क फ्रॉम होम” अपनाने का आग्रह किया।
प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि पश्चिम एशिया में बढ़ते संकट का असर वैश्विक तेल बाजार और भारत की विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार पर पड़ सकता है। उन्होंने पेट्रोल-डीजल की खपत कम करने, सार्वजनिक परिवहन का अधिक उपयोग करने और कारपूलिंग को बढ़ावा देने की भी सलाह दी। मोदी ने लोगों से “मेड इन इंडिया” उत्पादों को प्राथमिकता देने की अपील करते हुए कहा कि यह समय देशहित में जिम्मेदार फैसले लेने का है।
प्रधानमंत्री के इस बयान के बाद राजनीतिक हलकों में भी चर्चा तेज हो गई है। विपक्ष ने इसे केंद्र सरकार की आर्थिक चिंताओं का संकेत बताया है, जबकि सरकार समर्थकों का कहना है कि यह देश को संभावित वैश्विक आर्थिक संकट से बचाने की तैयारी है।
