गुमला जिला अंतर्गत स्थित पालकोट में 25 मई, 2026: पालकोट थाना क्षेत्र के बांगरू ग्राम में सोमवार को एक भीषण सड़क हादसा हो गया। यात्रियों से भरी एक यात्री बस अचानक तेज रफ्तार के कारण अनियंत्रित होकर पलट गई। हालांकि, इस बड़ी दुर्घटना में पालकोट पुलिस की त्वरित कार्रवाई और स्थानीय युवाओं की निस्वार्थ सेवा के कारण घायलों को समय रहते गुमला सदर अस्पताल पहुंचाया जा सका, जिससे कई जानें बच गईं।

थाना प्रभारी तरुण कुमार की तत्परता से टला बड़ा संकट
घटना की सूचना मिलते ही पालकोट के थाना प्रभारी तरुण कुमार ने बिना एक पल की देरी किए त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए उन्होंने अपने दल बल के साथ अपने थाने में उपलब्ध सभी वाहनों और के साथ तत्काल घटनास्थल की ओर कूच किया। मौके पर पहुंचकर थाना प्रभारी ने खुद आगे बढ़कर राहत और बचाव कार्य की कमान संभाली। बस में फंसे दुर्घटना पीड़ितों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकाला गया और पुलिस वाहनों में ही बैठाकर तुरंत नजदीकी अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया। इलाके में पुलिस की इस सक्रियता की काफी सराहना हो रही है।

स्थानीय युवाओं ने पेश की मानवता की मिसाल
इस दुर्घटना के दौरान शुरुआत में घटनास्थल पर मौजूद कुछ लोगों के मन में पुलिस और कानूनी कार्रवाई का डर था, जिसके कारण वे चाहकर भी आगे नहीं आ रहे थे। लेकिन इसी बीच कुछ स्थानीय युवाओं ने आगे आकर मानवता की उत्कृष्ट मिसाल पेश की।

शुभम गुप्ता ने बिना किसी हिचकिचाहट के अपनी निजी कार में घायलों को बैठाया और उन्हें तुरंत अस्पताल तक पहुंचाया। राहत और बचाव कार्य में उज्ज्वल प्रसाद और मुकेश केसरी भी पूरी मुस्तैदी से घायलों की मदद करते देखे गए। इन युवाओं ने पुलिस के साथ मिलकर स्थिति को संभालने में पूरा सहयोग दिया।

इस दौरान उज्ज्वल प्रसाद ने थाना प्रभारी की तत्परता की तारीफ की और वहां मौजूद लोगों का डर दूर करते हुए उन्हें समझाया कि, “दुर्घटना किसी के साथ भी हो सकती है। यदि लोग डर के कारण आज घायलों की मदद नहीं करेंगे, तो कल किसी अपने को जरूरत पड़ने पर समय पर मेडिकल सुविधा मिलना मुश्किल हो जाएगा। जान बचाने में कभी पीछे न रहें।”

जान बचाएं, सम्मान पाएं: क्या है ‘गुड सैमेरिटन’ (नेक मददगार) नीति?
घटनास्थल पर कुछ लोगों की हिचकिचाहट को देखते हुए, प्रशासन ने आम जनता को ‘गुड सैमेरिटन’ (Good Samaritan) या ‘नेक मददगार’ नीति की याद दिलाई है। सरकार ने सड़क दुर्घटना में मदद करने वालों को कानूनी पचड़ों से पूरी तरह मुक्त कर दिया है:

सिर्फ अस्पताल पहुंचाना है आपका काम: एक मददगार के रूप में आपको केवल घायल व्यक्ति को नजदीकी अस्पताल तक पहुंचाना है। आपसे जबरन कोई पूछताछ नहीं की जाएगी।

सम्मान और प्रशस्ति पत्र: आपके द्वारा पीड़ित को अस्पताल पहुंचाने के बाद, पुलिस केवल दुर्घटना का सत्यापन करती है और अस्पताल मरीज का वेरिफिकेशन करता है। इसके बाद आपकी मदद के लिए आपको ‘प्रशस्ति पत्र’ प्रदान किया जाता है।

25,000 रुपये तक की प्रोत्साहन राशि: यदि आपने किसी बड़े सड़क हादसे (Major Accident) में किसी की जान बचाई है, तो आपके इस उत्कृष्ट कार्य के लिए 25,000 रुपये तक की राशि का भुगतान संबंधित विभाग द्वारा किया जाएगा।

राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर सम्मान: उत्कृष्ट मदद करने वाले नागरिकों को भारत सरकार द्वारा भी सम्मानित किए जाने का स्पष्ट प्रावधान है।
