बरसात के साथ बढ़ा सर्पदंश का खतरा, तीन दिनों में दो मौतें; गुमला सदर अस्पताल में 1500 एंटी-स्नेक वेनम वायल उपलब्ध

गुमला। जिले में मानसून की शुरुआत के साथ ही सर्पदंश की घटनाओं में वृद्धि होने लगी है। बीते तीन दिनों के भीतर सर्पदंश से दो लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है, जिससे ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में चिंता बढ़ गई है। स्वास्थ्य विभाग ने लोगों से अंधविश्वास और झाड़-फूंक से बचने तथा सर्पदंश की स्थिति में तत्काल अस्पताल पहुंचने की अपील की है।

ताजा घटना बिशुनपुर थाना क्षेत्र के लापू गांव की है, जहां 22 वर्षीय रोशन भगत की सांप के काटने के बाद गुमला सदर अस्पताल में इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई। जानकारी के अनुसार रोशन बुधवार रात भोजन करने के बाद गांव के मध्य विद्यालय परिसर में सोने जा रहा था। रास्ते में किसी विषैले सांप ने उसके पैर में डस लिया। तबीयत बिगड़ने पर परिजन उसे सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र बिशुनपुर ले गए, जहां प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद बेहतर इलाज के लिए गुमला सदर अस्पताल रेफर किया गया। हालांकि इलाज के दौरान उसकी मौत हो गई।

मृतक के पिता मुनेश्वर भगत ने बताया कि गर्मी के कारण गांव के कई युवक स्कूल परिसर में रात बिताते थे। रोशन भी उसी उद्देश्य से घर से निकला था, लेकिन रास्ते में सांप के डंसने का शिकार हो गया।

घटना की सूचना मिलने के बाद बिशुनपुर थाना पुलिस ने शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए गुमला सदर अस्पताल भेजा। पोस्टमार्टम के बाद शव परिजनों को सौंप दिया गया।

जनवरी से अब तक 25 मामले, छह की मौत

स्वास्थ्य विभाग के आंकड़ों के अनुसार जनवरी 2026 से 11 जून 2026 तक जिले में सर्पदंश के 25 मामले सामने आए हैं, जिनमें छह लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है। केवल मई महीने में ही लगभग 14 सर्पदंश की घटनाएं दर्ज की गईं। वर्ष 2024 में जिले में सर्पदंश से 14 लोगों की मौत हुई थी, जबकि वर्ष 2025 में नौ लोगों की मौत दर्ज की गई थी। हालांकि समय पर उपचार और एंटी-वेनम की उपलब्धता के कारण 17 मरीज पूरी तरह स्वस्थ होकर घर लौटने में सफल रहे थे।

अंधविश्वास बन रहा मौत का कारण

ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में आज भी सर्पदंश के बाद कई लोग अस्पताल जाने के बजाय झाड़-फूंक, ओझामती और देशी जड़ी-बूटियों का सहारा लेते हैं। स्वास्थ्य विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि अस्पताल पहुंचने में देरी और अंधविश्वास के कारण कई मरीजों की जान चली जाती है। जिले में सर्पदंश से होने वाली मौतों का वास्तविक आंकड़ा इससे कहीं अधिक होने की आशंका जताई जाती है।

सर्पदंश स्थानीय आपदा घोषित

झारखंड सरकार ने सर्पदंश को अधिसूचित बीमारी और स्थानीय आपदा की श्रेणी में रखा है। सर्पदंश से मृत्यु होने पर मृतक के आश्रितों को राज्य आपदा मोचन निधि के तहत चार लाख रुपये की अनुग्रह सहायता राशि प्रदान की जाती है।

बरसात में क्यों बढ़ जाता है खतरा?

गुमला सदर अस्पताल के सिविल सर्जन डॉ. शंभूनाथ चौधरी ने बताया कि बरसात के मौसम में सांपों के बिलों में पानी भर जाने के कारण वे बाहर निकल आते हैं। ऐसे समय में खेतों, झाड़ियों, घरों के आसपास तथा रात के समय विशेष सावधानी बरतने की आवश्यकता होती है।

उन्होंने बताया कि सर्पदंश के मामलों में समय पर अस्पताल पहुंचना सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है। मरीज को जितनी जल्दी चिकित्सा सुविधा मिलेगी, उसके स्वस्थ होने की संभावना उतनी ही अधिक होगी।

अस्पतालों में पर्याप्त एंटी-वेनम उपलब्ध

डॉ. चौधरी ने बताया कि गुमला सदर अस्पताल में वर्तमान में 1,500 एंटी-स्नेक वेनम (एएसवी) वायल उपलब्ध हैं। इसके अलावा जिले के सभी सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों में 35 से 40 एएसवी वायल उपलब्ध कराए गए हैं। साथ ही चिकित्सकों और स्वास्थ्यकर्मियों को सर्पदंश के उपचार एवं प्रबंधन का विशेष प्रशिक्षण भी दिया गया है।

सर्पदंश होने पर क्या करें?

• मरीज को शांत रखें और घबराने न दें।
• प्रभावित अंग को यथासंभव स्थिर रखें।
• तत्काल नजदीकी सरकारी अस्पताल या स्वास्थ्य केंद्र पहुंचाएं।
• घटना का समय और परिस्थितियां याद रखें।
• चिकित्सकों की सलाह के अनुसार ही उपचार कराएं।

क्या न करें?

• झाड़-फूंक, तंत्र-मंत्र या घरेलू उपचार का सहारा न लें।
• प्रभावित स्थान को काटने या जहर चूसने का प्रयास न करें।
• अत्यधिक कसकर पट्टी न बांधें।
• सांप को पकड़ने या मारने की कोशिश न करें।

स्वास्थ्य विभाग ने लोगों से अपील की है कि सर्पदंश की स्थिति में किसी भी प्रकार के अंधविश्वास में समय न गंवाएं। विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार समय पर अस्पताल पहुंचने और एंटी-स्नेक वेनम मिलने पर अधिकांश मरीजों की जान बचाई जा सकती है।
