A government employee who won Rs 50 lakh in KBC quits his position. then a turn

A Madhya Pradesh revenue department employee who had previously won Rs 50 lakh on Amitabh Bachchan’s quiz show “KBC” resigned from her position as Tehsildar on Friday, but she unexpectedly revoked her resignation the following day. Amita Singh Tomar, a tehsildar, is assigned to Sheopur.

Nearly ten years ago, Tomar participated in Amitabh Bachchan’s game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” and won Rs 50 lakh. The division of work among government personnel was recently established by the newly appointed Sheopur collector. But Amita was dissatisfied because she believed she was given unimportant jobs and that her seniority was disregarded, which led her to resign.

I’ve endured insults for the past five years. When the new Collector was chosen, I had anticipated being granted control of the Tehsil, but that did not occur. This has mentally traumatised me,” she admitted in her letter of resignation. Due to the possibility of relocation from this district to another location in accordance with Election Commission regulations, hour district for the previous four years was not made Tehsildar. Such conduct and behaviour are not proper for a senior executive.

For the past five years, Amita Tomar has worked in several areas without being given a specific position. She currently serves as the main officer in charge of the land records.

She handed in her resignation to the Assistant Collector on Saturday after the Collector named tehsildars in each of the district’s five tehsils, and word of it quickly spread online.

She declined to speak publicly in front of the media and stated that her “mental condition is not good.” The following day, she sent an application to the Additional Collector pleading with him not to accept her resignation, which changed the course of events.

Tehsildar Amita Singh is a senior tehsildar who has served for four years, according to Sanjay Kumar, the Sheopur District Collector, who spoke to India Today. Her transfer was required under the rules of the Election Commission. She did not receive a new task because of this. Being a senior tehsildar, this is not the proper course of action. The senior officials will be consulted on the issue.

She was suspended in 2019 when it was claimed she used an expletive with religious overtones in her post and uploaded a “objectionable” comment on Facebook.

She also made news when, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she claimed that she was the victim of “repeated transfers” and that this was happening to her. “I have endured contempt and insults for five straight years. I feel terrible mental anguish as I look up at juniors above me. I had anticipated becoming the tehsildar with the arrival of the new collector, but after being insulted once again, I have decided to leave the administration.

Tahsildar has come up for debate.

Tehsildar Amita Singh had received a notice from the Collector for making unacceptable comments on a post on the Constitution and posting contentious postings and comments on the internet.
