Two zonal commanders of CPI Maoist influenced by the surrender policy of government surrendered in the office of Superintendent of Police. The names of CPI Maoist who surrendered are zonal commander Neeraj Singh Kharwar alias Sanjay Kharwar and Salman alias Lokesh alias Rajkumar Ganjhu. Both of these maoist received the reward of Rs 10 lakh each from the government.

During the surrendering of these two naxalites DIG YS Ramesh, DC Garima Singh and SP Anjani Anjan honored and welcomed them by giving flower bouquets, covering them with shawl followed by giving the check of rupees 10-10 lakhs each. DIG YS Ramesh said that those who have strayed from the path and have chosen Naxalism it’s better to surrender through the surrender policy rather than being killed by the police. Further he also stated that such people should surrender and be a part of mainstream society and lead a happy life or be prepared for the consequences.
The Deputy Commissioner of the district also appealed to the Naxalites to join the mainstream by adopting the surrender policy. Also, the SP of the district said that the only option left for the few Naxalites left in Latehar district is to surrender. Latehar Police appeals them to surrender and join the mainstream society and live a better life.
