After winning the T20 World Cup, now BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has told the next mission of Team India.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has released a video message for sports fans congratulating the players and support staff for the historic win in the T20 World Cup. Jai Shah said that we have become world champions. Now the next mission is World Test Championship and Champions Trophy. Jay Shah said that “in the last one year we played 3 ICC tournament finals but despite good performance we could not achieve the expected results. Now we have won the T20 World Cup. Will maintain it in future.” It is noteworthy that in the final of T20 World Cup in Barbados on 29 June 2024, India won the title by defeating South Africa by 7 runs.

Congratulations to Team India on its historic victory

Jay Shah has written on BCCI’s official social media account that “many congratulations to Team India for this historic victory. I want to dedicate this victory to coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. This was our third final in the last one year. We lost the World Test Championship in June 2023. In November 2023, we won 10 consecutive matches. Won hearts but could not win the cup.

In Rajkot I had said that we will win both hearts and cups in June 2024. Our captain hoisted the flag. The contribution of the last 5 overs was important in this victory. I would like to thank Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya very much for this contribution. After this victory, the next step is the WTC Final and also winning the Champions Trophy.”

Team India lost 2 ICC finals in one year

Let us tell you that Team India reached the final of the World Test Championship twice. In the first edition of the tournament, India had to face defeat at the hands of England in the finals, while in the second edition, Team India lost to New Zealand. At the same time, India was defeated by Australia in the final of the ODI World Cup. Team India broke the losing streak in the final of the ICC tournament in Barbados where captain Rohit Sharma lifted the trophy after 17 years.
