Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya Robbed in Italy: Passports and ₹10 Lakh Stolen, Local Police Dismissed their case

Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya, celebrating their 8th wedding anniversary in Europe, were robbed in Florence, losing valuable items worth ₹10 lakh. The couple, who arrived in Florence to explore the city’s beauty, were shocked to find their car broken into and their belongings stolen. They left behind some old clothes and food items. Despite attempts to contact the local police and the embassy, they were dismissed due to the lack of CCTV cameras in the area and the police station’s closure at 6 pm.

The couple also tried reaching the embassy but were unsuccessful. They need bureaucratic intervention to return to India, as they are currently in a small town near Florence. The hotel staff has been helpful, but they are stuck without cash and urgently need the embassy’s assistance. They require temporary passports and substantial help from the embassy to return to India, as they have nothing with them.

Vivek shares video of damaged car and claimed they have lost everything

Vivek Dahiya shared a video on his Instagram Stories showing their damaged car. The vehicle, parked among greenery, had a door left wide open. The window glass was shattered, with fragments scattered across the back seat. A cap was visible resting on a paper bag near the back seat.

In the clip, Vivek mentioned, “This location was supposed to be secure. The hotel staff were aware we had belongings in the car. Now, we’ve discovered that we’ve lost everything. Our documents, including passports, cash, and all the shopping we’ve done over the past 15 days—it’s all gone.”

On Instagram, they shared a note explaining that their car was parked on a secured resort property when the break-in occurred. They requested not to be troubled with suggestions on how to better secure their belongings, emphasizing that the resort was aware of the luggage in the car and had no concerns.

They also mentioned, “This could happen to anyone, but I hope it doesn’t! (Folded hand emoji). If you can help, please do. If not, empathy is appreciated. If even that seems difficult, please go about your business.” Additionally, Divyanka shared an update: “Current status: Getting a detailed report done at the local police station right now.”
