Recently, Akshay Kumar talked about his current losing streak and the things he’s taken away from setbacks.
After a string of hits, Akshay Kumar used to rule the box office, but he’s currently going through a difficult moment in his career. After Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s huge setback earlier in the year, his most recent album, Sarfira, has likewise had trouble gaining traction. Replica of the critically acclaimed Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, for which actor Suriya won the National Film Award for Best Actor, Sarfira has fallen short of reviews.
Industry tracker Sacnilk claimed that after 12 days in theatres, the picture has only managed to gather Rs 21.80 crore in the domestic market, despite having a hefty production budget of Rs 100 crore. Given his reputation as a box office magnet throughout the years, Akshay Kumar’s poor result represents a serious setback.
In response to a question concerning the greatest challenge he faced on his path to stardom, Akshay said, “I think it was the mindset of limitation.”
Having come from a lowly background, I thought it would be impossible to make films in Bollywood. The field is cutthroat, and success in it takes more than just skill—it takes perseverance, diligence, and a little bit of good fortune. But I was obstinate and unyielding. I therefore took a risk, followed my gut, and didn’t lose sight of my objectives. That perseverance has been very important in creating my path.
