Santosh Gangwar has been appointed as the 12th Governor of Jharkhand. He is a senior BJP leader. Along with being an MP, he has also been a Union Minister 8 times. Gangwar has been active in BJP for a long time. However, this time he did not contest the Lok Sabha elections. Santosh Gangwar, born on 1 November 1948 in Bareilly, is known as Vikas Purush in Bareilly. He contested elections for the first time from Bareilly Lok Sabha seat in 1981 on BJP ticket. He had to face defeat in this election. After this, he also had to face defeat in the 1984 general elections.
