यह मोदी जी की परिपक्वता व पद की गरिमा का परिचायक नहीं

आज विश्व प्रेस स्वतंत्रता दिवस (World Press Freedom Day) है। पूरी दुनिया के साथ अपने देश में प्रेस फ्रीडम की दशा और उसके लिए जिम्मेदार कारणों व कारकों पर हमें जरूर सोचना चाहिए।

 प्रेस फ्रीडम के वैश्विक सूचकांक के 180 देशों की सूची में भारत को 151वें स्थान पर रखा गया है। इस कथित सुधार पर देश का सत्ता और मीडिया प्रतिष्ठान चाहें तो अपनी पीठ थपथपा लें लेकिन मैं तो लानत भेजूंगा।

हमारे प्रधानमंत्री आगामी सितंबर में 75 वर्ष के हो जाएंगे, मगर उनके व्यवहार से लगता नहीं कि उनकी उम्र इतनी होने जा रही है। बचकानापन अभी तक उनका गया नहीं है। गरिमा उन्हें छू नहीं गई है। केरल के तिरुवनंतपुरम में विझिंगम अंतरराष्ट्रीय बंदरगाह का उद्घाटन करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा:’ मैं मुख्यमंत्री से कहना चाहता हूं कि आप इंडिया गठबंधन के मजबूत स्तंभ हैं। शशि थरूर भी यहां बैठे हैं। आज का यह इवेंट कई लोगों की नींद हराम कर देगा।’

अरे भाई, केरल में बंदरगाह का उद्घाटन हो रहा है। एक महत्वपूर्ण अवसर है। उसके महत्व के अनुरूप बात होनी चाहिए। फिर जिसने यह बंदरगाह बनाया है, वह अडाणी, प्रधानमंत्री जी का बेहद सगा है। इस नाते उन्हें वहां होना ही था (वैसे भी उद्घाटन- भाषण ही उनका सबसे प्रिय कर्म है)।

राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री के नाते पिनराई विजयन को भी वहां होना था, जिनकी मंजूरी के बगैर यह बन नहीं सकता था, तो स्वाभाविक है कि श्रेय लेने के लिए वह भी आए। वह अकेले मोदी को श्रेय क्यों लूटने दें? उन्हें भी चुनावी राजनीति करनी है।

वामपंथ के आखिरी गढ़ को किसी भी तरह बचाने की जिम्मेदारी अकेले उनके कंधों पर है। और थरूर तिरुवनंतपुरम से सांसद हैं तो उन्हें भी वहां होना था। इसमें नींद हराम होने जैसी बात क्या है? क्या संसदीय लोकतंत्र में यह आम बात नहीं रही है? क्या विजयन और थरूर को वहां इसलिए नहीं होना चाहिए था कि इस समय देश का प्रधानमंत्री भाजपा का है?

ऐसी छिछली बात एक महत्वपूर्ण बंदरगाह के उद्घाटन के मौके पर कहना यह बताता है कि उम्र और पद के कारण व्यक्ति में जो परिपक्वता आना चाहिए, वह दुर्भाग्य से प्रधानमंत्री के हिस्से में आई नहीं है और अब आएगी भी क्या?

दो बातें और। किसी को आपत्ति इसपर हो सकती है कि वामपंथी सरकार ने अडाणी के सहयोग से यह बंदरगाह क्यों बनाया, यह एक अलग वैचारिक बहस है। दूसरा थरूर साहब कभी इधर, कभी उधर का संकेत देते रहते हैं।

राजनीति की दुनिया में न कोई नैतिकता बची है, न सिद्धांत, तो हो सकता है. थरूर साहब कांग्रेस का दामन छोड़ दें, जहां अब वह असुविधा महसूस करने लगे हैं मगर थरूर ने अपनी ढेरों किताबों के जरिए अपनी एक बौद्धिक के रूप में भी छवि बनाई है, उसके बावजूद अगर वह भाजपा में जाते हैं तो यह उनके लिए शर्मनाक होगा।

वैसे थरूर साहब विजयन जी की भी एक बार तारीफ करके अपनी पार्टी को संकट में डाल चुके हैं। और मान लो थरूर पार्टी बदल ही रहे हैं तो इसका संकेत इस कार्यक्रम में इस तरह देना मोदी जी की परिपक्वता तथा पद की गरिमा का परिचायक नहीं है। वैसे मोदी जी इन बातों को ठेंगे पर रखते हैं।
