गुमला, झारखंड — गुमला जिला अंतर्गत पालकोट थाना क्षेत्र के अंबेराडीह गांव के समीप मंगलवार शाम एक पिकअप वाहन के पेड़ से टकरा जाने से बड़ा हादसा हो गया। इस दुर्घटना में लोहरदगा के बरवाटोली गांव निवासी 25 वर्षीय चालक सुमित कुमार की इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई।
जानकारी के अनुसार सुमित कुमार रोज़ की तरह लोहरदगा से सब्जी लोड कर राउरकेला (ओडिशा) जा रहा था। अंबेराडीह के पास वाहन अचानक अनियंत्रित होकर सड़क किनारे पेड़ से जा टकराया। टक्कर इतनी जबरदस्त थी कि सुमित वाहन के स्टेरिंग में बुरी तरह फंस गया।
स्थानीय ग्रामीणों ने तुरंत राहत कार्य शुरू किया, लेकिन चालक को गाड़ी से निकाल पाना मुश्किल हो रहा था। इसके बाद पालकोट थाना को सूचना दी गई, जिस पर पुलिस टीम तत्काल मौके पर पहुंची और कड़ी मशक्कत के बाद सुमित को बाहर निकाला गया।
उसे गंभीर अवस्था में गुमला सदर अस्पताल लाया गया, जहां प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद उसे भर्ती कर लिया गया। हालांकि, देर रात लगभग 10 बजे इलाज के दौरान उसकी मौत हो गई।
घटना के बाद अस्पताल परिसर में मृतक के परिजनों ने इलाज में लापरवाही का आरोप लगाते हुए हंगामा किया। उन्होंने बताया कि सुमित बीते दो-तीन दिनों से ठीक से नहीं सो पाया था, जिससे संभवतः गाड़ी चलाते समय नींद लगने के कारण यह दुर्घटना हुई।
सूचना मिलने पर गुमला सदर अस्पताल पहुंचे पालकोट थाना के एसआई गौतम वर्मा ने शव को अपने कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेजा। बुधवार को पोस्टमार्टम के बाद शव परिजनों को सौंप दिया गया।
पुलिस ने मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए जांच शुरू कर दी है, और दुर्घटना के कारणों की पड़ताल की जा रही है।
इस दुखद घटना ने एक बार फिर लंबी दूरी के व्यावसायिक ड्राइवरों की थकान और पर्याप्त विश्राम की जरूरत को उजागर किया है, जो कई बार जानलेवा साबित हो जाती है।
