समाज में सृजन करनेवालों का मजाक और शोर पैदा करनेवालों को हर क्षेत्र का विशेषज्ञ कैसे मान लिया जाए…!

कई साथी पूछ रहे हैं कि इस पूरे विवाद पर मेरी क्या राय है और क्या मुझे उस चर्चित टीवी चेहरे पर कुछ लिखना चाहिए जिसने शिक्षकों के लिए अपमानजनक शब्दों का प्रयोग किया। सच कहूँ तो दुविधा यही है कि किसी विषय पर लिखने के लिए कम से कम इतना तो होना चाहिए कि वह विचार के योग्य लगे। हर शोर विचार नहीं होता और हर प्रसिद्ध चेहरा सम्मानजनक विमर्श का पात्र नहीं होता।

मुझे हमेशा लगता है कि किसी व्यक्ति का मूल्य उसके द्वारा पैदा किए गए शोर से नहीं, समाज में जोड़ी गई उपयोगिता से तय होना चाहिए। इस कसौटी पर देखें तो देश का एक साधारण शिक्षक, चाहे वह किसी गाँव के स्कूल में पढ़ाता हो या किसी छोटे यूट्यूब चैनल पर, उस व्यक्ति से कहीं अधिक उपयोगी है जो रोज़ घंटों कैमरे के सामने बैठकर बहस के नाम पर शोर का उत्पादन करता है।

एक शिक्षक कम से कम किसी बच्चे को कुछ सिखाने की कोशिश तो कर रहा है। वह किसी के भीतर एक कौशल, एक समझ, एक संभावना पैदा कर रहा है। उसकी सफलता और असफलता पर बहस हो सकती है, लेकिन उसके काम की सामाजिक उपयोगिता पर नहीं।

विडंबना यह है कि आज ज्ञान देने वाले लोगों का मूल्यांकन अक्सर वे लोग करने लगे हैं जिनका पूरा पेशा दूसरों की बातों पर प्रतिक्रिया देना भर है। जो लोग स्वयं कोई परीक्षा नहीं पढ़ाते, कोई पाठ्यक्रम नहीं बनाते, किसी बच्चे के भविष्य की जिम्मेदारी नहीं उठाते, वे शिक्षकों की गुणवत्ता पर अंतिम फैसला सुनाने की मुद्रा में दिखाई देते हैं। यह ऐसा ही है जैसे कोई दर्शक मैदान में उतरे खिलाड़ियों को खेल सिखाने लगे।

ऊर्जा सिर्फ उत्तेजना पैदा करने से क्या हासिल होनेवाला है

यूट्यूब के शिक्षक पर सौ सवाल उठाइए। उनकी गुणवत्ता पर चर्चा कीजिए। उनके व्यावसायिक मॉडल की आलोचना कीजिए। उनके दावों की पड़ताल कीजिए। यह सब होना चाहिए। लेकिन यह भी याद रखिए कि लाखों बच्चे उन्हीं मंचों से पढ़ रहे हैं, सीख रहे हैं, प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं की तैयारी कर रहे हैं और अपने सपनों तक पहुँचने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। उनमें कमियाँ हो सकती हैं, पर वे कम से कम निर्माण की प्रक्रिया में शामिल हैं। दूसरी ओर कुछ लोग ऐसे हैं जिनकी पूरी ऊर्जा केवल उत्तेजना पैदा करने, बहस को लड़ाई में बदलने और दर्शकों की भावनाओं को भड़काने में खर्च होती है।

इसलिए इस विवाद में मेरा ध्यान किसी एक व्यक्ति पर नहीं है। मेरा ध्यान उस प्रवृत्ति पर है जो समाज में सृजन करने वालों का मजाक उड़ाती है और शोर पैदा करने वालों को विशेषज्ञ घोषित कर देती है। 

शिक्षक की आलोचना का अधिकार उसी को होना चाहिए जिसने शिक्षा की जिम्मेदारी का कुछ भार अपने कंधों पर उठाया हो। बाकी जहाँ तक उन चर्चित चेहरों का सवाल है, मेरी कलम हमेशा उन लोगों पर खर्च होना पसंद करेगी जो कुछ बना रहे हैं, न कि उन पर जो केवल बोल रहे हैं। इतिहास भी अंततः उन्हीं को याद रखता है जिन्होंने समाज में कुछ जोड़ा हो, न कि उन्हें जिन्होंने हर शाम स्टूडियो की रोशनी में कुछ घंटे शोर मचाया हो।
