Sanya Malhotra on her role as Jawan: “Want To Learn From Shah Rukh Khan, Atlee, Nayanthara”

In 2016, Sanya Malhotra made her debut in the movie business with the sports drama Dangal costarring Aamir Khan. Her performances in films like Badhaai Ho, Ludo, and others have won her a lot of admiration and praise since then. The 7th of September saw the release of Jawan, her most recent movie in which she co-stars with Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara. Sanya’s role as a pivotal member of Shah Rukh Khan’s influential girl gang with an emotional plot has earned a lot of praise, and the movie has been doing incredibly well at the box office. The actress recently revealed that working with SRK has long been a dream of hers.

Sanya Malhotra claims that she was more concerned with what she could learn from Shah Rukh Khan and the rest of the cast and crew of the movie Jawan than she was with her little screen time in it.

As Dr. Eeram, a former physician who is a member of Shah Rukh’s vigilante gang, Malhotra plays a crucial but little role in the Atlee-directed film.

In her debut movie, Dangal, in which she starred alongside Aamir Khan, the 31-year-old actor claimed she learned a valuable lesson. She added that this lesson was useful when she agreed to do Jawan.

As an actor, “Nitesh (Tiwari) sir had advised me during the filming of Dangal to explore what you can bring to a script. It doesn’t matter how much you’ll donate or who you are or aren’t… I just wrestled for a minute or two in “Dangal,” but I practised for more than a year for it,” Malhotra told PTI in an interview.

Shah Rukh’s participation in Kamal Haasan’s 2000 film Hey Ram was another example cited by the actor.

He had performed a part solely out of love for the script and acting, which gives me a great deal of assurance as a performer. Shah Rukh Khan is one of my all-time favourite actors, so when I got the chance to work with him, be in his presence, and watch him perform, there was no way in the world I was going to say no. “I want to learn from him because he’s a legend. I also want to learn from Atlee sir and Nayanthara ma’am because I want to see them on set and observe their behaviour both on and off the set. That was crucial, Malhotra emphasised.

In addition to Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt, the movie also has Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, and Mukesh Chhabra in cameo roles.

Shah Rukh was referred to as a “institution” by Malhotra, who also claimed to have gained much knowledge from the actor.

“There’s a reason he’s King Khan… His level of passion for his work is unmatched, and it would be a pleasure just to chat with him and ask him any questions about acting. I questioned him and learned a great deal from him.

I don’t even know if he remembers it, but he did urge me to follow my heart rather than my logic, and that’ll kind of stick with me forever. Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma both co-produced the Red Chillies Entertainment production Jawan.
