गुमला : – गुमला जिले में फाइलेरिया उन्मूलन अभियान को सफल बनाने के उद्देश्य से एक भव्य प्रभात फेरी का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें जिले के चार प्रमुख विद्यालयों—एसएस प्लस टू गर्ल्स, एसएस प्लस टू बॉयज, कस्तूरबा गांधी बालिका विद्यालय गुमला एवं एएनएम कॉलेज गुमला—के लगभग 2000 विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया। यह आयोजन आगामी फाइलेरिया मास ड्रग एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन (एमडीए) राउंड की सफलता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए किया गया, जो 10 से 25 फरवरी 2025 तक चलेगा।
फाइलेरिया एक गंभीर सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य समस्या है, जो मच्छरों के माध्यम से फैलती है और दुनिया की दूसरी सबसे बड़ी विकलांगता उत्पन्न करने वाली बीमारी मानी जाती है। इस संक्रमण के लक्षण बचपन में विकसित हो सकते हैं, लेकिन इसका प्रभाव 5 से 15 वर्षों बाद स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई देता है।
एमडीए अभियान के तहत डाइथाइलकार्बामाजिन (डीईसी) और अल्बेंडाजोल दवाओं का निःशुल्क वितरण किया जाएगा। इस अभियान के तहत एक से दो वर्ष के बच्चों को आधी गोली अल्बेंडाजोल, दो से पांच वर्ष के बच्चों को एक गोली डीईसी और एक गोली अल्बेंडाजोल, छह से चौदह वर्ष के बच्चों को दो गोलियां डीईसी और एक गोली अल्बेंडाजोल, जबकि पंद्रह वर्ष और उससे अधिक उम्र के लोगों को तीन गोलियां डीईसी और एक गोली अल्बेंडाजोल दी जाएगी।
इस अभियान को सफल बनाने में विद्यालयों के प्रधानाध्यापकों एवं शिक्षकों की अहम भूमिका रही। पीरामल फाउंडेशन, गुमला की टीम ने भी पूर्ण सहयोग प्रदान किया।
