ममता कुमारी ने हंसराज अहीर को सूंडी/शौण्डिक जाति को अत्यंत पिछड़ा वर्ग में शामिल करने की मांग को लेकर सौंपा ज्ञापन, मिला भरोसा

नई दिल्ली : झारखंड राज्य की सूंडी जाति को अत्यंत पिछड़ा वर्ग (BC-1) की केंद्रीय सूची में शामिल कराने की मांग को लेकर मंगलवार को राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग सदस्य ममता कुमारी ने राष्ट्रीय पिछड़ा वर्ग आयोग, भारत सरकार के अध्यक्ष हंसराज गंगाराम अहीर के दिल्ली स्थित कार्यालय में जाकर ज्ञापन सौंपा।

यह ज्ञापन झारखंड सरकार द्वारा 28 जून 2025 को जनसुनवाई हेतु जारी अधिसूचना संख्या 266/पि. के संदर्भ में प्रस्तुत किया गया, जिसमें राज्य की विभिन्न जातियों से सुझाव मांगें गए थे कि किन्हें अत्यंत पिछड़ा वर्ग की केंद्रीय सूची में शामिल किया जाए।

ज्ञापन में बताया गया कि झारखंड में सुंड़ी/शूंडी/शुन्डीक/शुंडी चासा/शौण्डिक/सुमंडल/मंडल आदि नामों से जानी जाने वाली यह जाति वर्षों से सामाजिक, आर्थिक व शैक्षणिक रूप से अत्यंत पिछड़ेपन का शिकार रही है। यह जाति परंपरागत रूप से कृषि कार्यों पर निर्भर रही है, लेकिन अब इनकी अधिकांश आबादी दिहाड़ी मजदूरी कर जीवन यापन करने को विवश है।

ममता कुमारी ने मांग की कि जिस प्रकार केंद्र सरकार की अधिसूचित सूची में पहले से 122 जातियों का उल्लेख है, उसी सूची में सुंडी जाति को भी जोड़ा जाए। वर्तमान में इस जाति को झारखंड राज्य की अत्यंत पिछड़ा वर्ग (BC-1) की सूची में रखा गया है, अतः उन्हें केंद्रीय सूची में भी स्थान मिलना न्यायोचित है।

राष्ट्रीय पिछड़ा वर्ग आयोग के अध्यक्ष माननीय हंसराज अहीर ने ममता कुमारी को भरोसा दिलाया कि वे इस विषय को केंद्र सरकार के समक्ष गंभीरता से रखेंगे और समाज की आवाज को आगे बढ़ाने का हरसंभव प्रयास करेंगे।

राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की सदस्य ममता कुमारी ने राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया और उम्मीद जताई कि वर्षों से चली आ रही मांग पर अब सकारात्मक पहल होगी और सुंडी समाज को उसका हक मिलेगा।
