प्रख्यात चिकित्सक तथा टेस्ट ट्यूब बेबी के जनक डॉ सुभाष मुखोपाध्याय की जयंती के अवसर पर हजारीबाग सदर अस्पताल में अवस्थित उनकी प्रतिमा पर श्रद्धा पूर्वक माल्यार्पण तथा पुष्पार्पण किया गया। सदर अस्पताल प्रबंधन, इंडियन मेडिकल एसोसिएशन की हजारीबाग इकाई एवं बेंगॉली एसोसिएशन, हजारीबाग ने संयुक्त रूप से कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया।

इस अवसर पर बेंगॉली एसोसिएशन के सचिव सोमनाथ कुनार तथा सदस्य श्री प्रसन्न चंद्र ने संयुक्त रूप से प्रतिमा पर माल्यार्पण किया। हजारीबाग के सिविल सर्जन डॉ अशोक कुमार बतौर मुख्य अतिथि कार्यक्रम को सुशोभित किए तथा पुष्प अर्पित किए। मौके पर इंडियन मेडिकल एसोसिएशन हजारीबाग इकाई के अध्यक्ष तथा चक्षु रोग विशेषज्ञ डॉ सुजय सामंता, सचिव तथा युवा चिकित्सक डॉ तीर्थोजीत मैइत्रा, आईएमए के पूर्व अध्यक्ष डॉ रजत चक्रवर्ती तथा युवा चिकित्सक डॉ नीलाशीष दे ने पुष्प अर्पण किया।

इसके बाद हजारीबाग बेंगॉली एसोसिएशन के पूर्व अध्यक्ष डॉ सजल मुखर्जी एवं पूर्व सचिव सौभिक भट्टाचार्य ने पुष्प अर्पण किया। ज्ञात हो कि इन्हीं के प्रयासों से तथा हजारीबाग के आम आवाम की मांग पर तत्कालीन उपायुक्त श्री रविशंकर शुक्ल ने प्रतिमा को स्थापित किया था । उस समय पहले टेस्ट ट्यूब बेबी जिसको डॉ सुभाष मुखोपाध्याय ‘दुर्गा’ नाम दिए थे, उनके पिता एवं डॉ सुभाष मुखोपाध्याय के सहयोगी डॉ सुनीत मल्लिक हजारीबाग आए थे। सौभिक भट्टाचार्य ही उन्हें कोलकाता से हजारीबाग लाए थे।

प्रतिमा के समक्ष आयोजित एक संक्षिप्त कार्यक्रम में डॉ सजल मुखर्जी ने डॉ सुभाष मुखोपाध्याय के हजारीबाग में हुए जन्म से लेकर टेस्ट ट्यूब बेबी के जनक के रूप में उनकी जीवन यात्रा पर प्रकाश डाला। बताया कि यदि उनके साथ न्याय होता तो उन्हें निश्चित नोबेल पुरस्कार से नवाजा जाता। सिविल सर्जन डॉ अशोक कुमार ने आयोजन में काफी रुचि ली तथा सुभाष मुखोपाध्याय के बारे में कई प्रश्न पूछे। कार्यक्रम का संचालन बेंगॉली एसोसिएसिएशन के अध्यक्ष डॉ सुकल्याण मोइत्रा ने किया।

इस अवसर पर श्री आशीष चौधरी, वर्षा दे, तनुश्री मुखर्जी, सूतनु राय, बिकास चौधरी, अरबिंदो चौधरी, तपन सरकार, सुजीत मुखर्जी, जयंतो बनर्जी, कौशिक भट्टाचार्यजी, सूक्ति चौधरी, संपा कुनार, सुजित भट्टाचार्यजी, सुहास सर्वाधिकारी, चिन्मय सरकार, उज्जवल आयकत, बिश्वजीत आदि अच्छी संख्या में लोग पुष्पार्पण कर अपनी श्रद्धा अर्पित किए।
