सिमराबेड़ा जंगल में जंगली हाथियों की दस्तक, दहशत में ग्रामीण; खेतों की रखवाली को रातभर जाग रहे किसान

गोमिया प्रखंड के केंदर पंचायत अंतर्गत सिमराबेड़ा जंगल में जंगली हाथियों के झुंड की लगातार आवाजाही से आसपास के गांवों में दहशत का माहौल है। पिछले दो दिनों से हाथियों का झुंड जंगल में विचरण कर रहा है, जिससे ग्रामीणों के साथ-साथ खेतों में काम करने वाले किसानों की चिंता बढ़ गई है।
बरसात के मौसम के साथ खेती-बाड़ी का कार्य तेज हो गया है। ऐसे में जंगल से सटे खेतों तक पहुंचना किसानों के लिए जोखिम भरा साबित हो रहा है। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि हाथियों का झुंड कभी भी खेतों या गांव की ओर रुख कर सकता है, जिससे फसलों और जान-माल दोनों को नुकसान पहुंचने की आशंका बनी हुई है। इसी डर के कारण कई गांवों में लोग रातभर जागकर पहरा देने को मजबूर हैं।
घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही वन विभाग की टीम सक्रिय हो गई है। विभाग के अधिकारी लगातार हाथियों की गतिविधियों पर नजर बनाए हुए हैं और उन्हें सुरक्षित तरीके से जंगल के भीतर रखने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।
वन विभाग ने ग्रामीणों से अपील की है कि रात के समय विशेष सतर्क रहें। हाथी दिखाई देने पर तुरंत वन विभाग को सूचना दें, अकेले जंगल या खेतों की ओर न जाएं, हाथियों के करीब जाने या उन्हें उकसाने की कोशिश न करें तथा अनावश्यक शोर-शराबा से बचें।
स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि महुआटांड़ थाना क्षेत्र और आसपास के जंगलों में हर वर्ष हाथियों का आवागमन होता है। इसके बावजूद स्थायी निगरानी व्यवस्था नहीं होने से ग्रामीणों में भय बना रहता है। ग्रामीणों ने वन विभाग से प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में नियमित मॉनिटरिंग, त्वरित सूचना प्रणाली और हाथियों को सुरक्षित रूप से जंगल के अंदर रखने के लिए ठोस कार्रवाई की मांग की है, ताकि भविष्य में किसी भी प्रकार की अप्रिय घटना से बचा जा सके।
