After crossing the danger mark, the Yamuna’s water level falls

  • After briefly surpassing the danger line of 205.33 metres on Tuesday as a result of excessive rain in the river’s higher catchment areas during the previous two days, the Yamuna’s water level in Delhi started to decline on Wednesday morning.
  • The historic railway bridge in the capital had a water level of 203.35 metres as of Monday evening at 7 o’clock. This result is little over one metre below the warning threshold of 204.5 metres and almost two metres below the critical level of 205.33 metres. Experts acknowledge that the Yamuna’s water levels may be creeping closer to the dangerous point when the higher terrains of the Himalayas see another round of intense rainfall.

  • The catchment area for the Yamuna river system includes portions of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi. Around 41,000 people live in Delhi’s low-lying riverside neighbourhoods, which are thought to be susceptible to flooding. Despite the land being owned by the Delhi Development Authority, the revenue department, and private persons, encroachments on the river’s floodplain have happened over time.
  • Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are still suffering from the devastation caused by the rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “red alert” for numerous areas in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and predicted “heavy to hefty rains” for the upcoming 24 hours amid nonstop rain.
  • The “red alert” is expected to eventually become a “orange alert,” according to the weather service. Due to extended periods of rain, the hill states are experiencing a series of disasters. The number of people killed in Himachal Pradesh as a result of recent rains has increased to 55. Landslides, flash floods, and cloudbursts are seriously endangering lives, causing property damage, and forcing a large number of people to flee their homes.
  • Near the river in Delhi, there are about 41,000 residents who live in low-lying regions that are thought to be susceptible to floods. Even though the Delhi Development Authority, the revenue department, and private persons own the land, encroachments on the river’s floodplain have happened over time.
  • Floods in the city mostly affect the northeast, east, central, and southeast sectors. The irrigation and flood control department’s research on “Urban Flooding and its Management” lists east Delhi as being in the floodplain region and being particularly vulnerable to flooding.

Virat Kohli Denounces False Report About Alibaug Farmhouse Pitch Construction

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has vehemently denied a shocking news story that stated he was building a cricket pitch at his home in Alibaug. Kohli has denied the claim, which quickly gained traction on social media platforms.

Virat and his actress-wife Anushka Sharma, two of the most talked-about stars in the entertainment industry, have bought an eight-acre property in Zirad village. Rested for the entire T20I series between India and the West Indies, former Indian skipper Kohli recently visited the construction site in Maharashtra.

Power couple Virat and Anushka reportedly had plans to construct a cricket field at their opulent Alibaug home, according to Times of India news article. Kohli, however, has dispelled the rumors by posting a notable comment on social media. On Tuesday, Kohli clarified the situation on Instagram and called the development fake news. “Bachpan se jo akhbaar Padha hai, wo bhi fake news chaapne lage ab (Newspapers which I have read since childhood, have also started publishing fake news.),” Kohli mentioned in his Instagram post through Stories.

The news organization has since withdrawn the report, noting in an update that “This article has been removed. We regret any inconvenience we may have caused’’.

Users also expressed doubts about the Times of India’s reliability as a source of news on social media.

After the media outlet said that the former India captain was eager to have a cricket pitch on his opulent property, Kohli responded. Kohli is one of the most popular athletes on the Instagram app , with over 255 million followers. A prior story claimed Kohli had purchased a second home in Alibaug the previous year. The senior Indian team hitter paid INR 36 lakh in stamp duty for the sale of his 2,000 square foot property in Alibaug, which cost him INR 6 crore.

Recently, inaccurate allegations about Kohli’s Instagram profits have surfaced. The great batter is the third-richest athlete on the social networking platform, charging $1,384,000, or more than Rs 11.45 crore, for each post, according to a story in Hopper HQ. He is third only to Cristiano Ronaldo who commands $3,234,000 or Rs 26.76 crore per post and Lionel Messi, who commands $2,597,000 or Rs 21.49 crore for a post. Virat Kohli, who has 256 million Instagram followers, quickly went on social media to refute the allegation after it made news. Taking to his official X account on Saturday morning, Kohli said he is grateful for whatever he has received in his life but the reports regarding his social media earning are false. “While I am grateful and indebted to all that I’ve received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true,” he said.

Archit Chandak, an IPS officer from Nagpur, has always aspired to do great things. Archit Chandak, an IPS officer, is from Shankar Nagar in Nagpur and graduated from BP Vidya Mandir at Bhavan. After graduating from high school, Archit Chandak attended the prestigious IIT, a school of engineering that is the goal of every BTech aspirant. Archit Chandak, an IPS officer, earned a BTech in mechanical engineering from IIT Delhi. In the JEE exam that year, he was the city’s best student. IPS officer Archit Chandak turned rejected a Rs 35 lakh compensation deal from a Japanese corporation after graduating in order to serve his country. He had even been offered it during his internship. He declined the position and continued his UPSC preparation in an effort to pass the Civil Services exam.

The UPSC exam is one of the toughest exams in the world, and it is well known that those who take on the task of studying for it are among the most outstanding people. It is a genuinely remarkable accomplishment to pass this exam and so serve as a beacon of encouragement for countless people. One such motivational factor is exemplified by IPS officer Archit Chandak. Archit Chandak, a Nagpur native, developed high ideals early in life. He had his early schooling at Bhavan’s BP Vidya Mandir in Shankar Nagar, Nagpur, where his family is from. Chandak subsequently attained his goal of being accepted into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), which was a dream held by many B. Tech aspirants.

Chandak, Archit Method of study This IPS officer has always thought that learning and revising should follow a pattern. According to Archit, if you are dedicated to achieving your goals, you will consistently learn about all the concepts and subjects without being frustrated or angry. He went on to say that all applicants must analyze their progress after learning each subject and concept using the best study materials.

Archit Chandak’s pursuit of his love of mechanical engineering at IIT Delhi led to the completion of his BTech degree. His success in the JEE exam in 2012, which was a tribute to his academic prowess, placed him in the top spot. Chandak had a revelation about his calling to work as a civil servant during his time at the institute. According to reports, he even received a job offer from a Japanese company during an internship that came with a respectable salary of Rs 35 lakh. Instead of accepting this alluring offer, Chandak made the decision to start studying for the UPSC test with the ultimate goal of succeeding in the Civil Services. He committed himself to the UPSC exam preparations after receiving his graduation in 2016. He took the UPSC test in 2018, showing promise by earning a respectable All India Rank (AIR) of 184. In the course of his initial assignment, he was given the job of station house officer at the Bazarpeth police station in Bhusawal. Later, he was promoted to the post of deputy commissioner of police (DCP) in Nagpur.

With 350 crore in worldwide box office receipts after just 7 days, Rajinikanth’s film Jailer is the highest-grossing Tamil hit of 2023.

The movie came out on August 10. In India, the jailer has made 174.15 crore in all languages. According to a Sacnilk report, the Tamil version has made 139.05 crores in the first five days of its debut in India. According to the report, the Hindi version brought in a total of 1.25 crore while the Telugu version garnered 32.55 crore.

When it debuted on Thursday, August 10, the movie took in an initial total of 48.35 crore (all languages) in India. The movie’s second-day earnings of 25.75 crores represented a significant decline. Over the weekend, the collections went up. Jailer saw considerable growth even on Monday when it generated 23.55 crore on its fifth day in India.

The Indian box office is approaching 400 crore. The Hindi releases of Gadar 2 and OMG 2 ignited ticket booths across the day after Jailer opened in theatres. The Producers Guild of India (PGI) and the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) released a joint statement applauding the audience for their enthusiastic response, which resulted in a combined weekend revenue of more than 390 crores. Together, OMG 2, Gadar 2, Jailer, and Bhola Shankar contributed to the total.

 The seasoned actor portrays Muthuvel Pandian in the movie, a retired jailer who spends his free time assisting in the filming of movies for his grandson’s YouTube channel. Trouble comes knocking at Muthu’s door when his son Arjun (Vasanth Ravi), a diligent police officer, delves deeply into an idol smuggling ring. Muthu returns to the world he freely left behind, blaming it all on his sincerity, which has evidently rubbed off on his son.

Nelson’s first three films all featured very straightforward stories that were enhanced by the director’s clever concepts, aside from the amazing graphics, absurd humor, and lead characters with deadpan faces; Jailer is no exception. In fact, Jailer may remind older audiences of Thangappathakkam (1974), while younger audiences are sure to be reminded of Kamal Haasan’s most recent smash blockbuster Vikram. Both recent films are about fathers who were previously officials in service but are now out for revenge, with their trusted connections, to avenge their son’s demise, aside from starring renowned stars in age-appropriate roles. The similarities, however, end there because Jailer is an entire cinematic world condensed into a single film, whereas Vikram is a page from one. Nelson crams a lot of characters into Jailer, and although most of them only have a small amount of screen time, they all nearly seem to fit together like the parts of a big puzzle

Jailer’s racy screenplay serves as the film’s main pillar, and from the very beginning, we are thrust into the action. The movie picks up steam until the interval as soon as Muthu leaves on a mission. The second part of the movie is when it starts to veer a little too much into an erratic area. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar’s cameos are welcome additions, but other characters that are introduced in the second half aren’t as well-received.

Additionally, there are a few passable action scenes that are accentuated by Anirudh’s catchy tune and brilliantly captured by Vijay Kartik Kannan. Additionally, there are a few mass scenes that we missed in Nelson’s last picture Beast. A horrifying incident unfolded on Monday as a massive fire and explosion ripped through a petrol station in Dagestan, Russia, claiming the lives of at least 25 individuals and leaving dozens injured.

At 21:40 local time (18:40 GMT), an explosion took place in Makhachkala, the provincial capital city situated on the Caspian Sea coast.

The fire reportedly started at an auto repair shop by a highway in the capital of Dagestan and later spread to a service station nearby. 10 of the 66 people hurt in the incident were in critical condition, according to Viktor Fisenko, deputy head of the Russian Health Ministry.

“Now 66 injured people are in medical institutions in Makhachkala, ten of them are in critical condition,” state news agency TASS quoted Fisenko as saying. According to him, 28 ambulance crews are working at the site.

The number of injured increased to about 66, with 10 of them in serious condition, according to RIA news agency’s citation of Vladimir Fisenko, the deputy minister of health in Russia.

13 of the wounded are reportedly youngsters, according to the Dagestani health ministry. These sobering figures illustrate how many innocent lives were affected by the disaster.

The victims of the explosion will be delivered by a special aircraft of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to Moscow hospitals.

Three children were among the dead, according to doctors , according to the Russian Interfax news agency. According to a statement from the Russian emergency service, it took firefighters more than 3-and-a-half hours to put out the fire, which had grown to cover 600 square meters (715 square yards).

It also mentioned that there was a risk of additional explosions given that the fire had grown to a size of 600 square meters (6,460 square feet).

Unidentified witness described the immediate aftermath of the explosion in the midst of the commotion. The unidentified witness reportedly claimed, “After the explosion, everything fell on our heads, and we couldn’t see anything anymore,” according to the AFP news agency.

“It’s like a war here,” a witness said.

The Ria Novosti news agency posted a video of the building’s early flames and the subsequent big explosion on Telegram.

The regional office of the Russian Investigative Committee announced that a criminal case had been started despite the absence of any reports of any involvement by Ukraine. According to the agency’s website, “Dagestan investigators initiated a criminal case under Article 238 of the Russian Criminal Code (providing services that do not meet the requirements of safety of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two or more people by negligence)”.

The Republic of Dagestan is one of 83 constituent parts of the Russian Federation and is the southernmost part of the country. Makhachkala sits around 1,600 km (1,000 miles) from Moscow.
