Review on “Ishq Vishk Rebound”

Review of “Ishq Vishk Rebound”: “Ishk Vishk Rebound,” directed by Nipun Dharmadhikarai, features Jibraan Khan, Pashmina Roshan, and Rohit Saraf. It’s an ill-fated effort at a young romantic comedy.

You may note that the stars in “Ishq Vishk,” Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao, have aged nicely, but the plot might not have. ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’, a new remake of the film, delves into contemporary themes of heartbreak, love, friendship, and rebound. These days, it seems like there are many different definitions of love, and ‘Rebound’ just makes matters more confusing. Co-writers Ketan Pedgaonkar, Vinay Chhawal, and Vaishali Naik do a good job of capturing this perplexity, but they never seem to get beyond it.

The narrative that initially centres on these pals quickly shifts to focus on Raghav and his problems. No attempt is made to address important subjects in the story. To put it mildly, it is ridiculous. In one moment, the wonderful Sheeba Chadha teaches “couple therapy” to a blissfully oblivious Raghav, who is also a writer. You are mistaken as an audience member who has been waiting for something more grounded to be discussed there.

Another scene features Sahir and his father’s equation reaching a turning point, but the extravagant cinematography and language that breaks the fourth wall spoil the moment. The tricks employed gave the impression that it wasn’t sincere for a moment so serious.
However, the film’s impartial tone merits recognition; nevertheless, it does not justify shoddy execution. ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’s’ Jibraan Khan, who we saw as a young artist, is endearing on film.

Although the songs are catchy, it doesn’t make sense to include four songs in the plot of a film that is one hour and forty-five minutes [nearly] long.

The main issue with the movie is not that it portrays rebound as “frivolous.” However, it tries too hard or uses token gestures to amuse. Yes, it’s corny and amusing! However, without a soul, it all seems like a lost chance.
