A victory parade has been organised for team India which became champion by defeating South Africa in T20 World Cup, on July 4 at 5 pm. BCCI secratery Jai Shah has given this information that, this victory parade will start from Marine drive, Mumbai and go to Wankhede Stadium.
Jai Shah has further written that “the victory parade is being organised to honour the world champion team India. Note the date July 4. Join us in the celebration at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium”.
India defeated South Africa in the title match of T20 World Cup played in Barbados on June 29 by 7 runs. Team India won the toss and batted first and scored 176 runs while South Africa could score 169 runs in the stipulated 20. Virat Kohli was elected as Man of the match. At the same time indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was awarded the title ‘Player of the tournament’. Team India has returned to India today itself. Infact after the final match the team along with the entire support staff were stuck in the hotel in Barbados dur to the Beryl storm. After the storm subsided,the players were brought to Delhi by special chartered plane. Today the players will rest in a hotel in Delhi and tomorrow they will meet the Prim Minister.
