Congress Protest in Chakradharpur: Effigy of Railway Minister Burned Over Frequent Train Accidents

In Chakradharpur, Congress members, led by District Youth Congress President Pritam Bankira, burned an effigy of the Union Railway Minister at Pawan Chowk on Wednesday evening. The protest was against the frequent railway accidents in the region. Bankira criticized the government for profiting from the transportation of iron ore from West Singhbhum while neglecting basic railway infrastructure in the area.

They stated that the Railway Minister and the Prime Minister show no concern for public safety. The Congress party demanded government jobs for the dependents of those killed or injured in the accidents.

The protest was attended by National Coordinator of Youth Congress Chandan Kumar Rai, State General Secretary Dinbandhu Boypai, State Secretary Suresh Sanvaiya, Block President Vijay Samad, Mandal President Ponderam Samad, Sapu Mandal, Sunny Robert Anthony, Anupriya Soy, Block President Saheb Hembrom, German Bodra, Ajay Samad, Sandeep Mahto, Javed Mangal Jamuda, Sunny Pat Pinguva, Jay Singh Bodra, Amit Mukhi, Rajesh, Lalle Nayak, Somay Purti, Gopal Purti, and former Block President of Bandgaon Sheetal Purti, among others.
