A 15-year-old teenager was kidnapped on May 1 from outside his father’s eatery in Greater Noida’s Beta 2 sector, later found dead in a canal in Bulandshahr on May 5, around 50 kilometers away from Greater Noida. The three suspects who were detained are ‘hardcore criminals’, according to a press release issued by the police on Wednesday, they changed the white car after abducting the teenager outside the dhaba. The suspects have been identified as Kunal Bhati, Himanshu Singh, and Manoj. Around 2:20 am on Wednesday, Kunal Sharma, a class 8 dropout who would assist his father in running the family dhaba in Rabupura, was working at the cash register when women beckoned him to a car under the guise of collecting an order. When the boy got close to the white Skoda, he was thrown into the car and driven off.
The Skoda car involved in the crime was seen close to the Dadha junction in Greater Noida, according to the information that police received on Wednesday night. DCP Khan stated, “Therefore, a trap was set.” And the suspects were apprehended as they were leaving to “erase evidence”. “When the police tried to catch the suspects, they shot at the officers. The police fired back, and Bhati got shot. Later, when police questioned, they confessed to having a financial dispute with Sharma and admitted to killing him”. Said DCP Khan. According to senior police officers involved in the investigation, using CCTV footage, they were able to focus on the Skoda. They were able to track down the suspects and discovered that the car was replaced shortly after Sharma was kidnapped the car, which was used in a crime, a bag, two illegal handguns created in the nation, five live cartridges, and two empty cartridges were found in the retrieved car by the police .
